Many of Curtis Mayfield's finest songs were written while he was leader of the Impressions, and many of those are on this collection. Listeners should be aware, though, that the versions found here are re-recorded ones done in 1987, long after Mayfield left the group, and while these renditions are really quite beautiful, they aren't the originals.
