Big Bill Broonzy's 1955 London Sessions album is one of three remastered classic blues long-players from the Pye/Nixa Records catalog assembled in this triple-disc box set. As with most of Castle Communications' work since 1998, the tape research and the technical remastering are impeccable, with greater sharpness and clarity, and healthier volume levels, than on previous CD issues. The original title, Tribute to Big Bill, has also been restored, along with the original order of the songs from that release: the annotation by Neil Slaven goes into the detailed history of Broonzy's years as a performer in Europe and his successes in England.
