The soundtrack to Steve Buscemi's writing and directorial debut Trees Lounge is largely comprised of classic pop tracks from the '50s and '60s, including performances by Brenda Lee and the Inkspots. In addition to these oldies, there are a selection of low-key alternative pop/rock from the likes of Hayden. Though the two musical styles aren't necessarily compatable, the album holds together surprisingly well, since the overall tone of both styles is fairly laidback and inviting.
