Treasury of Country Inspirational Favorites is a four-CD collection sold by mail from Reader's Digest Music. Each disc is divided thematically, but most of the "themes" are so broad as to be meaningless ("Spiritual Joy," "Sunday Memories," etc.). The package features 80 religious songs performed by the Louvin Brothers, Jim Reeves, Porter Wagoner, Hank Snow, Merle Haggard, and many, many more, compiled in such a way so that the overall tone approaches the smoothness of Lawrence Welk rather than the rurality of Roy Acuff. Given the number of performers represented, interesting and infrequently anthologized artists abound, including Webb Pierce, George Hamilton IV, the Browns, Roy Drusky, and Leroy Van Dyke. Most of these recordings were made in the '50s and '60, and the enclosed booklet provides detailed track-by-track information.
