Not much to excite the sensors here. Even "No Tell Motel" sounds lame and unconvincing, despite its promising title. Nothing but a bunch of lifeless, subpar songs; Covay should have brought some of his material or updated some of his old stuff, like "See Saw," "Have Mercy Baby," or "Chain of Fools." Most of the songs have intriguing titles, but little else; "Chocolate Honey" looks better listed on the cover than it sounds. Only the title cut can be called interesting, and that's a stretch. "Travelin' In Heavy Traffic" has a windswept feel to it, and Covay rides the rhythm mouthing the sparse lyrics -- not the greatest singer, yet he nails this one. But a hit? I don't think so.
