A beautiful collection of tango music -- a small amount of nuevo tango, courtesy of Astor Piazzolla, but with other stars of the genre as well. Nestor Marconi, the ageless bandoneon player, appears on multiple tracks of the album, as does Roberto Goyeneche, the best tango vocalist since the legendary Carlos Gardel. The attempt with the album is to showcase the variability of the style of music, and it does quite a good job. For Americans used to hearing Astor Piazzolla at most, the vocal work of Goyeneche should prove refreshing. Probably one of the best features of the album is the ability it provides the listener to come as a fan of a particular player or two and give them a taste of other groups and players, expanding their own tango repertoire. A worthwhile album for any fan of nuevo tango, original tango, or vocal tango.
