Hot off the heels of the "Boogaloo Blues" vocal hit he scored while with Johnny Colon's band, Tito Ramos formed the TnT Band with Tony Rojas (another Colon alumni) and released their debut record, TNT = Dynamite. There is some crossover material included -- the opener "Cupid" makes a small bid for pop success -- though there aren't any attempts at a "Boogaloo Blues" sound-alike. As could be expected, the frequent English lyrics aren't rendered as well as the Spanish; still, the vocal chorus and the horn section both have a great sense of harmony. There's little to interrupt the good times except for one stray novelty on side two, "Mr. Slick."
