Like the masterful guitarist Jim Hall, Akio Sasajima isn't afraid to play at low volume and to leave space for his fellow musicians as he works his magic with the music. His lyrical approach is beautifully complemented by bassist Harvie Swartz and drummer Victor Lewis. The rich interplay between the string players on "Sometime Ago," the light foot tapping swing of "It Could Happen to You," and the delightful duet of "Crazeology" all merit praise. But it is the title track that best showcases the trio's capabilities; Swartz's dancing solo preludes the leader's virtuoso performance, powered by the crisp brushwork of Lewis. Highly recommended.
