Tripping Daisy's Time Capsule EP is an odds'n'sods collection featuring six otherwise unreleased tracks that span the group's career from 1991 to 1996. Moving in reverse chronological order, the EP begins with a psychedelic take on the PiL classic "Rise" (which also appeared on the Basquiat soundtrack) and ends with the track "Blue Train," which appeared on the band's self-titled, cassette-only demo EP, released in 1991. In between are other oddities, including "Cause Tomb Shop," a rare B-side to the band's only hit single, 1994's "I Got a Girl." Despite the "dog's breakfast" nature of this collection, it is a surprisingly enjoyable and balanced listen. Casual fans need not apply, but hardcore followers will consider Time Capsule to be an essential item. Includes enlightening and funny liner notes from bassist Mark Pirro.
