AllMusic Review by

A tribute to the hugely influential band he says "saved his life" at the age of 20, This Is a Velvet Underground Song That I'd Like to Sing is the fifth solo album from experimental French rock icon Rodolphe Burger. The former Kat Onoma frontman's follow-up to 2009's Valley Session features 11 cover versions of songs plucked from the first four studio albums by Lou Reed's cult outfit, including "All Tomorrow's Parties," "Venus in Furs," and "Sweet Jane," alongside a rendition of "Das Lied Vom Einsamen Madchen," a track from Nico's 1985 final release, Camera Obscura.
