This generous 20-track collection transports one back to 1961, and it's obvious the pop charts were surprisingly varied (as they usually always are, actually, no matter what the year) and full of little gems. Here we have Bobby Vee's best Buddy Holly impersonation on "Rubber Ball," Eddie Cochran's rocking call to arms, "Weekend," and Sandy Nelson's huge-sounding "Let There Be Drums," to name just a few of the delights included in this fun set that seems perfect for a long drive down memory lane on a bright summer's day.
