Ray J may be the brother of R&B singer Brandy, but his music has little relation to her squeaky-clean brand of R&B. That's not necessarily a good thing, as This Ain't a Game is full of macho posturing that is more than a little tedious. The best of the tracks on the album feature production from the Neptunes. "Formal Invite" offers suave Spanish guitars and Ray J's typical sexual braggadocio. The lead single, "Wait a Minute," features a half-hearted cameo by L'il Kim where she utters the line, "Hey, wait a minute. Ain't that Brandy's brother?" Since This Ain't a Game has so little to offer, that line is what listeners will remember most about Ray J.
