This live concert marks the first duo piano recording that Dick Hyman and Derek Smith made together. They complement one another's playing rather well, whether on familiar standards like "Sweet Georgia Brown" and "Stella by Starlight," or jazz classics such as "The Jitterbug Waltz" and "Cottontail." There are only two reservations about this release: the sound is less than ideal, making it seem like an aircheck with its lack of presence; also the inclusion of "New York, New York," which, in spite of a valiant uptempo performance, just doesn't measure up to the rest of the program. Produced and issued privately on record by the Jazz Club of Sarasota, it was acquired and issued on the now-defunct Jass label a few years later.
