Singer-songwriter Sara Lov writes about heartbreak, hope, and the vagaries of a life in limbo. While these aren’t exactly new themes for singer-songwriters, Lov’s haunting, gentle voice and carefully executed piano lines give her a distinctive sound. THE YOUNG EYES is a five-track EP that will raise expectations for Lov’s full-length debut, scheduled to follow in 2009. Amid her strong originals (especially the piano-only version of “Seasoned Eyes Were Beaming”) are covers of tunes by Beck and the Arcade Fire.
