AllMusic Review by

Divided into six separate thematically oriented records -- covering saloon songs, standards, swing, Broadway, Hollywood, and love songs -- this six-LP/four-CD set provides an excellent retrospective of Frank Sinatra's years at Columbia. Sinatra sounds vigorous and Axel Stordahl's arrangements, while sounding somewhat dated, remain breathtaking in their lush, romantic detail. The Voice has been superseded by the four-disc The Best of the Columbia Years but it remains an excellent introduction to one of Sinatra's prime periods.
