These recordings feature the great Rosemary Clooney with Johnny Guarnieri's group on the Voice of America radio programs numbers two, six, 11, 19, and 22. Given the small size of the ensemble, Clooney’s vocals are way out front. The material is all stellar, but it’s important to note that this CD is comprised of radio recordings, and therefore the sound quality suffers a tiny bit. All the instruments can be heard and there are some wonderful musical interludes, but they are a bit muted. Clooney’s voice, however, is way up front and her performances on tunes like “It’s Only a Paper Moon,” "I Still Get a Thrill,” “Chicago,” “Can’t Help Lovin’ That Man,” and “If I Were Your Girl” are simply stellar.
