The packaging and illustrations by cartoonist Marc Bell are a few cuts above the actual music on this EP in terms of inspiration and content. This Canadian group belongs to the genre of bands with names that are much weirder than their music. How many players are involved regularly in this combo is not explained in the liner notes; guest players are credited although band members are not. The packaging is heavy on creative use of cardboard. The folding strip of cardboard with illustrations glued to it that comes inside the cover is aesthetically pleasing to touch and look at. Having all the material fit into a brown shopping bag with a picture printed directly on it is another nice touch. The songs themselves tend to be pretty simple, with a lot of repeated patterns and rhythms on a primitive level, although lacking the instinctive spark that sometimes makes projects like this come off. The group refers to itself as the Cow for short, although this might create confusion with the other bovine would-be's whose group goes by the name of the Cows.
