The Ultimate Collection: Siempre Enamorado Review

by Thom Jurek

Just in time for Valentine’s Day 2010, fans of the great José Feliciano get this excellent compilation of some of his romantic songs, presented both solo and in duet with some of the period’s hottest Latin stars. “Que Nadie Sepa Mi Sufir” features Alicia Villareal singing alongside him, and “Para Decir Adios” features Ana Gabriel doing likewise. Other star appearances include RKM y Ken-Y rocking “Mar y Cielo,” and La India helping out on “Desevelo de Amor.” Even Luis Fonsi appears in duet on “Lamento Borincano.” The solo aspect of this collection features the singer and guitarist in a solid track selection which includes “El Siete Mares,” “Lagrimas del Alme,” “La Noche y Tú,” and the haunting “Por Mujeres Como Tú,” to name a few. Feliciano is in great voice, his guitar playing skills are undiminished by time, and these performances are utterly sincere and riveting.
