It's hard to say what will happen to a band's sound when there are lineup changes. With the addition of guitarist Derrick Freeman, Big Angry Fish sounds ready for world domination. This collection of songs still contains the hooks and melodies that have made them one hell of a live band, but this time they fill in the rest with more mature songwriting and stellar production. Instead of resting on their power pop sensibilities, they add an air of psychedelia and British Invasion to the sound, which gives them a lushness they lacked on their first two releases. At the very least, this disc gives you the hope that whatever they do next will be amazing.
