The String Quartet Tribute to Godsmack Review

The tension of melody and delivery that guides Godsmack's take on the alt.metal beast also surfaces on this string tribute to the band. However, while it kinda works on "Straight Out of Line" and "Awake," for the most part this release is pure novelty. The violins, violas, cellos, and vague synthesizer support can't really account for the crushing power of the 'Smack's ultra-compressed studio material, so the set is a fan-friendly novelty at best.
