AllMusic Review by

The Smurfs Go Pop is a major step in reclaiming Smurf prosperity. It signifies a musical return after an absence of over ten years and proves that the Smurfs are far from being captives of the '80s generation. The lyrically altered remakes of dance hits like "No Limit," "Mr. Boombastic," and "Cotton Eyed Joe" appeal to new generations of clubbies, while long-time Smurf writer Barry Corbett contributes new and upbeat songs that create a pleasantly old fashioned nostalgia. The hit single "I've Got a Little Puppy" is as obscure and delightful as freshly baked Smurfberry pie, which for the Smurfs is delightful but not obscure at all.
