AllMusic Review by

As the bassist for both Quicksand and the Deftones, Sergio Vega has made a name for himself among hard rock enthusiasts everywhere. Somewhere along this line he must have stumbled across very different influences though, because his first solo offering is a poppy EP without any of the tough guy sentiments of his former groups. There are hints at his past in the nearly metal guitars that open up "Come Home Soon," but there are also moments where Vega comes off sounding like the illegitimate child of Elvis Costello ("Old School Beatdown"). On this five-song EP, Vega experiments with a few simple and charming pop tunes and most definitely succeeds. Even the super cheery and almost Beatlesque "Everybody Loves Love," which rounds out the album, sounds quite sincere coming from the former rocker. This record is an often inspiring set that is pleasing to both the ear and the mind in its assurance that talented musicians are in no way confined to particular styles, as long as they have the motivation to break out.
