AllMusic Review by

Released in 1999, Legendary John Denver picks 50 tracks from throughout Denver's career and sequences them through three discs. Although nearly all his big hits are here, along with a lot of fan favorites and album tracks, there is also a fair amount of pleasant but indistinguishable material here, along with a few weird choices (such as the Placido Domingo duet "Perhaps Love"). Given its sheer length, this is hardly the choice for casual listeners, nor is it the logical comprehensive career-retrospective that its length implies it would be (after all, there are no liner notes outside of a testimonial) -- it's merely a large sampler, surrounding his classic material with choices both logical and puzzling. Certainly, there's a lot of Denver here, and if it's found at a budget price, that may make it worthwhile for some listeners; others will prefer a more logical presentation of his career, which this is not.
