A zany blend of dancehall/hip-hop and urban contemporary sounds, snippets, posturing, and raps that at times actually worked. Lady Levi was probably too unfocused to ever click with the cautious types who now control the airwaves, but she presented one of the more unusual, unpredictable albums of the early '90s. There were things that didn't work, and she didn't have enough really strong songs, but the release's attitude and style were so intriguing that you often found yourself enjoying the music no matter how offbeat it seemed.
