Released in 1965, The Jim Reeves Way is a strong reminder of Reeves' classic "Nashville Sound," with the standards "Make the World Go Away" and "I Can't Stop Loving You" beside more obscure tracks like "There's That Smile Again" and "A Nickel Piece of Candy." The beautiful ballad "Maureen" is included as well. Reeves was very popular in South Africa and the rarities "Bolandse Nooientjie" and "Ek Verlang Na Jou," which are sung completely in Afrikaans, are included. It's somewhere during those two tracks that the listener, unless fluent in Afrikaans, realizes that Reeves could sing random syllables and it would still sound great.
