AllMusic Review by

"Featuring all original artists," says United Audio Entertainment on the cover of the off-brand The Hit Box 1, a skimpy three-disc set that advertises itself as a compilation of popular singles from 1942-1969. While some of the selections are the original recordings, the set is littered with inferior re-recordings (including the versions of Eddie Floyd's "Bring It on Home to Me" and the Drifters' "Save the Last Dance for Me"). There is no reason to own this, unless it's intended for use as a prank.
