AllMusic Review by

Since his days in the Buffalo Springfield, Richie Furay has often been overshadowed by the company he keeps, but although he has never become a household word like some of his bandmates, he has maintained a more steady life than most, even largely leaving pop music behind to become a pastor. HEARTBEAT OF LOVE is Furay's first solo album in nearly three decades, and it sounds as if it was written and recorded at some point in the mid 1970s, thanks to the simple, elegant country-rock arrangements and the impressive guest stars, including Furay's old bandmates Stephen Stills and Neil Young.
