AllMusic Review by

Not quite as erudite as Bad Religion but nowhere near as sophomoric as, say, blink-182, Guff straddle the punk-pop fence with a mix of hardcore-inspired rock and good-natured, three-chord antics. The Guff Is a Disaster EP offers listeners a satisfying taste of the Athens, GA, band, serving up five fast-paced, unrelenting tunes that feature clashing guitars and driving rhythms behind better than generic "punk rawk" vocals. Guff's songwriting is also a notch or two above average, songs like "Responsibility" and "Faith" sneaking some lofty concepts and poetic imagery past the band's young audience, proving that intelligence and sensitivity aren't just for folkies and heart-on-their-sleeves emo-rockers.
