AllMusic Review by Johnny Loftus

The Greatest Songs of Christmas: The First Noel is a Reader's Digest-branded compilation that features nicely appointed vocal versions of holiday chestnuts. There's Kenny Rogers with a slight jazz reading of "White Christmas," Plácido Domingo singing "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," and Pat Boone's version of "O Little Town of Bethlehem." Brenda Lee coos her way through "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," and the London Mozart Players perform an instrumental, flute-led version of "Feliz Navidad."
