This self-described "leading Danish punkjazzgroup" is led by the very talented percussionist P.O. Jørgens, the percussionist whose name sounds strangely similar to Danish free jazz drummer Peter Ole Jørgensen, who records for the same label. Along with saxophonist T.S. Hoeg and bassist/guitarist Søren Tarding, Jørgens navigates a unique terrain, incorporating avant-pop, world, free jazz, minimalist, and jazz-rock elements in a curious melange that should appeal to those who find some of the wilder elements of free jazz devoid of melody, harmony, or reason. Whether this recording completely succeeds is unclear, as the 22 tracks have a comic book eclecticism that rarely permits ideas to fully develop. Still, this is a finely honed recording, and its heartfelt diversity should arouse some passions.
