AllMusic Review by

A four-CD box released by the British Dressed to Kill label, The Goth Witch Project is purportedly devoted entirely to goth rock, although the compilers play a little loose and fast with the definition of "goth" (Alice Cooper may be spooky and theatrical, but he certainly isn't goth). Even at four discs, the collection doesn't contain many of the most influential goth artists, most likely due to licensing restrictions; some of the bigger names who are present include the Sex Gang Children, Gene Loves Jezebel, Theatre of Hate, Nekromantik, and Hugh Cornwell (of punk group the Stranglers). Overall, the set has its moments, but at an erratic four discs, it's a dicey proposition for most everyone besides goth fanatics.
