AllMusic Review by

The 14th of 15 CDs in this series features music from seven different British and Scandinavian trad/dixieland bands from the 1950s and early 60s. Acker Bilk's Paramount Jazzband recall the sound of Kid Ory's on "All The Girls Go Crazy" and "Careless Love," Ken Colyer's early band of 1953 (with Chris Barber and Monty Sunshine) sounds fairly primitive on its three numbers and trumpeter Henrik Johansen's Jazz Band swings hard on four numbers. Also heard from are Adrian Bentzon's group (including "Sidewalk Blues"), Graham Stewart's New Orleans Band, Chris Barber and five numbers (including Sidney Bechet's "Egyptian Fantasy") from Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband. A fine cross section of European trad music.
