Zero Ohms (aka Richard J. Roberts) is, by modern standards, a true renaissance man. He is an artist, a teacher, a philosopher, and a producer. But he is, first and foremost, a brilliant e-musician. He recorded his first ambient CD in 1999. The Glass Bead Game is an instant classic. From the first notes of track one, "The Freemasonry of Science," to the last strains of track 12, "Ocean of Mercy," listeners are rapt. Roberts' gentle atmospheres and intricate sound design carry his listeners to and fro. The smooth flow of the soundscape is hypnotic and caresses deep listeners with love and affection. This great CD is essential e-music. It will appeal to fans of Robert Rich, Constance Demby, Rapoon, and Oophoi.
