AllMusic Review by

A change of name seems to have done Uisce Beatha good. Re-christened Red, the group dropped the out and out Celtic style for an energetic Celtic-influenced pop format, and it pays off immediately. From the start of the album it is infectious, and the band seems more in their element throughout. The mandolin is frenetic, the guitars are crunchy, and the singing seems more assured than ever. The break from the Celtic idiom seems to have freshened up the band's lyrical sense, too: "Misconception," in addition to being darned catchy, also questions the meaning of it all. Not your typical Celtic drinking song, no.
