This is the second disc from Tomato Records' two-CD set called Early Years, which spans John Lee Hooker's work with Vee-Jay Records. These sessions are as close to the commercial mainstream as this throwback bluesman ever got, which means he wasn't close at all, just not quite as ragged by degree. It doesn't make much sense to get this disc and the first volume separately if you can find the original box.
