This is one of the finest compilations of early-'60s girl-group-style rock & roll you will ever find, and one of the most instructive, too, in terms of Barry and Greenwich's songwriting. But forget that -- it's also about as much fun as any one record could possibly be, its 23 songs all among the most delightful pop/rock ever written. "What a Guy" kicks it off, and it hooks most people who hear it, but there's lots of better stuff here, including "One More Tear" and "You Got What I Like," and the Raindrops' version of "Do Wah Diddy Diddy." The sound is excellent, and the notes, while a little digressive, are as detailed as they get.
