AllMusic Review by

Frank Sinatra was in the early years of his career as one of America's greatest song stylists when he signed with Columbia Records in 1943, where he would regularly record until 1952. It was during his years at Columbia that Sinatra would score his first major hits, and evolve from a crooner who sent the bobby-soxers' heads spinning to a more mature artist who knew how to draw the most from a song's emotions. The Box Set Series is a four-disc collection that features 45 songs from Sinatra's years with Columbia, from his earliest recordings with Harry James and Tommy Dorsey to later sides as a solo artist. While Sinatra would make his best and most iconic records when he moved to Capitol Records in 1953, this set is a well-curated overview of the many memorable moments from his decade with Columbia. This same collection of material was previously released in 2009 as The Music of Frank Sinatra.
