The second volume of Biograph Records' licensing of Brunswick and OKeh recordings of the Boswell Sisters continues its examination of the sisters' remarkable jazz stylings of the first half of the 1930s. Connie (later Connee) Boswell is the lead singer, but the harmonies scat and swoop amazingly, and the hot session musicians, who include Bunny Berigan, the Dorsey brothers, and Benny Goodman, are often hard-pressed to keep up. Two of these tracks, "Alexander's Ragtime Band" and "Dinah," were Top Ten hits; two others,"If I Had a Million Dollars" and "Rock and Roll," are presented in previously unreleased alternate takes.
