The 12th in a series that features some of the best songs of a specific year, 1935 was the year that such enduring classics as Winifred Shaw's "Lullaby of Broadway," Fred Astaire's "Cheek to Cheek," and Fats Waller's "I'm Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter" (all included here) hit the radio airwaves. Also included is a 26-minute radio play adaptation of the film Magnificent Obsession (from the novel by Lloyd C. Douglas) that aired as part of the Screen Directors Playhouse radio series in 1949.
