Best of Texas Country Music is one of those compilations that makes you wonder why the record label, in this case Richmond, bothered to release it. This disc only contains 8 tracks, several of which aren't performed by the artists that made them popular. Why listen to Billy Walker's version of "El Paso" instead of the original by Marty Robbins? Other tracks include "Texas Playboy," (George Jones), "High Noon (Do Not Forsake Me)," (Tex Ritter), and "Back Side of Dallas" by (Jeannie C.Riley). Even at a budget price, any CD containing only 8 tracks should be avoided.
