As it stands, this import collection is the best and most accurate representation of Swing Out Sister's hit singles. Another hits collection, issued in 2001, failed to include some of their vital singles, including their second U.S. chart entry, "Twilight World," and "Waiting Game," the first single from their sophomore album. All of their hits are included on this set, including their biggest, "Breakout," as well as the incredibly difficult to find single edit of the aforementioned "Twilight World." Also included is their 1992 comeback hit, "Am I the Same Girl," and other gems such as the fantastic "You on My Mind," "Notgonnachange," and the U.K. edit of "La La (Means I Love You)." Additionally, the album closes with a tender, heartfelt live cover of the 1960s classic "The Windmills of Your Mind." The set plays well from start to finish, with all the songs blending together seamlessly. This is an ideal album for either a cocktail party, a late-night gathering, a romantic dinner date, or simply nostalgia for late-'80s/early-'90s sophisticated British jazz-pop, similar in style to Everything But the Girl, Sade, and Simply Red. A fine collection from a truly underrated act.
