The All-Stars in 1959 featured trombonist Trummy Young and clarinetist Peanuts Hucko but Louis Armstrong was of course the main star. Some unusual material like "Old Kentucky Home," "Drop That Sack" and "Chimes Blues" uplift this fine session and Satch's highly expressive vocal on "St. James Infirmary" makes this LP quite memorable. The best of Louis? Maybe not, but this was a good week.
