A blanket statement here: any compilation made up of any of Jerry Lee Lewis' Sun recordings is worth owning, as few artists left behind so consistent a body of work. This 20-tracker has just about all the essentials (it's docked a few points for leaving off "Crazy Arms," "End of the Road," and "It'll Be Me") that get your JLL collection off to a fine start. Off-the-wall bonus tracks like "Pumpin' Piano Rock," "In the Mood," and "Drinkin' Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee" not included in these usual best-ofs make this set great listening, with enough of his country weepers to break things up quite nicely. If you see this one in the bin, by all means pick it up.
