AllMusic Review by

One of the best of many best-of albums focusing on Dennis Brown, AFRICA spotlights Brown's work with Niney The Observer between 1971 and 1976, and is packed with 18 tracks of classic 1970s roots and lovers reggae. Included are original versions of many Dennis Brown standards like "Here I Come Again" (with DJ I Roy), "Cassandra," "Whip Them Jah Jah," "Westbound Train," and "Conquerer," as well as lesser known tracks such as the upbeat "Blood Sun," the mellow "Go Now," and the outstanding extended discomix of "Home Sweet Home."

Brown was already extremely well-known by this point, but this album is a good indication of why he became an even bigger star, and one of Jamaica's most respected and revered singers. This is Brown at his raw best with well above-average production courtesy of Niney the Observer.
