AllMusic Review by

This extremely brief and odd concoction throws together some of the song demos Canned Heat did for Johnny Otis in 1966 before they signed with Liberty Records and released their debut album in 1967. Featuring mostly covers of classic blues songs, the versions aren't bad at all, but this fly-by-night release is hardly the way to get them. For some reason a live recording of the Spencer Davis Group doing "Gimme Some Lovin'" (here called "Give Me Some Loving") is tacked on at the end of this dubious set.
