This poorly presented no-frills compilation, distributed in some European territories, features some of Funkadelic's biggest hits, namely "One Nation Under a Groove" and the four-and-a-half-minute edit of "(Not Just) Knee Deep." Beyond that, the disc is an assortment of lesser-known singles and random album cuts, and no one could possibly benefit from the favoring of the live version of "Cosmic Slop" over the original studio version. Since Funkadelic's career was split between Westbound and Warner Bros., a proper introduction does not exist. Short of obtaining all the studio albums, you'd be much better off investing in a pair of compilations: Motor City Madness: The Ultimate Funkadelic Westbound Compilation (Westbound, 2003) and The Whole Funk & Nothing But the Funk: Definitive Funkadelic 1976-1981 (Union Square U.K., 2005).
