Another sampler assembled for disc jockeys, this record includes selections from some of Belafonte's most successful albums for RCA between 1956 and 1963. Unfortunately, many of the tracks are unnecessarily edited, in the hopes that shortened versions of the songs might have a better chance at airplay on radio stations whose listeners' attention spans wane after two-and-a-half minutes. It's not as if a 7-minute song had to be trimmed to 3 minutes. In one case, the work song "Did You Hear About Jerry" from Midnight Special is cut from 3 minutes to 2:26. Why bother? For collectors and promo addicts only.
