Regardless of the price, no volume of the Bellevue label's The '80s series is worth seeking. Each volume should be avoided, as they're all thoughtless. While the back of the discs note that some of the selections are re-recordings, there is no track-by-track specification. These packages are cheap -- the volumes have the same artwork -- and some of the songs originated in the '90s. The '80s: I Want to Know What Love Is contains versions of Odyssey's "Inside Out," Level 42's "Something About You," the Gin Blossoms' "Follow You Down" (originally released in 1996) and, of course, Foreigner's "I Want to Know What Love Is."
