This three-disc set has a few problems. At only ten songs per disc, it would have been fairly easy to edit this whole affair to a single disc without losing much or anything at all. Secondly, several of these tracks are re-recorded versions rather than the original singles, which may not seem like a big deal, but the countless little intangibles that go into making a recording a timeless hit are often impossible to reproduce. Pumped full of space to make it seem a bigger collection than it really is, and including faux versions of hit songs, 60s Pop Classics is like a side-of-the-road attraction that promises wonders but delivers a whole lot less.
