From the late '40s through the early '60s Peppermint Harris recorded for a variety of labels to moderate success. Although he had a few records in the '70s, he was basically retired until 1994, when he recorded Texas on My Mind at the age of 72. Although the songs on the album are quite good (most of the numbers are originals), Harris' abilities have dwindled; with his limited voice and guitar skills, he simply doesn't have the power to captivate an audience.
